COMPETITION FORMAT

City firms will have a unique opportunity to battle it out on the exciting new circuit to claim the glory of the fastest business in the Square Mile. Racing in front of thousands of fans makes this a unique experience. The excitement and adrenaline will fuel your team’s competitive spirit as you race to defeat your city rivals.

The competition sees teams of four compete individually and as a team over the virtual qualification leading up to the City Criterium finale on the Nocturne circuit.

Selected riders from each team will race against the clock and each other on our virtual time trail challenge on static bikes in the rider village.

The rankings from the virtual racing will define the position of the team on the start grid for the winner takes all City Criterium final. Winners of the virtual race will take pole position on the finish line with the teams being lined up behind down the finish straight – grid position will be crucial to give you and your team mates the edge in the final race.

The City Criterium will be a flat-out race over 10 laps of the Nocturne city circuit. It is a team race so the result will be decided by the third rider across the line in each team, so teamwork is crucial.

THE RULES

The following rules and regulations will apply:

1. GENERAL

1.1 Cycling helmets are compulsory for all riders.

1.2 Final criterium result based on the third rider across the line from each team.

1.3 A lap out will be permitted for mechanical issues (wheel change)

2. TEAM COMPOSITION

2.1 All teams consist of four riders.

2.2 Riders must be your employees or clients.

2.3 No professional riders allowed.

2.4 A maximum of two riders can be British Cycling category 2 or higher.

RIDER VILLAGE

Teams will get access to our the rider village located in Guildhall Yard (see map below) providing a secure area for your team and guests.

  • Secure area for team throughout the event 
  • Neutral service - mechanical support.
  • Dedicated sports masseurs
  • Complimentary coffee from the Rapha H-Van
  • Complimentary bar and catering for guests and celebratory drinks after the racing
  • Video screens to watch the virtual racing and Nocturne races

The enclosure will feature the virtual racing – riders will race against the clock and each other on the virtual race circuit as your team mates cheer you on.

The Official Charity Partner for the 2017 Rapha London Nocturne is London Air Ambulance - www.londonsairambulance.co.uk. 20% of each team entry will be donated to our Charity Partner as part of the fundraising activities at the 2017 Rapha Nocturne.
